Arrival and parking in Barth
If you are travelling to Barth from the west or east, the route usually follows the B105 and then continues through the town to the shipyard grounds. From the south, the A20 is the most suitable long distance route. For the final stretch, please use the arrival details provided with your booking. The destination for your yacht handover is Ramin Yacht Shipyard in Barth.
Unloading luggage at the pontoon
You may drive right up to the charter pontoon for loading and unloading. Bring your luggage and provisions to the yacht, then move your car to the available covered parking area. Access to the pontoon is intended for unloading only. Separate parking spaces are provided for the duration of your charter. Please take care around shipyard staff and machinery on site.
Parking during your sailing holiday
Covered parking spaces are available within the shipyard grounds, approximately 200 metres from the pontoon. Details of where to enter the shipyard and which spaces are allocated for your vehicle will be included in the base information we provide before your charter.
Provisioning and yacht handover
Barth offers shopping facilities in town. If you need more extensive provisions for your sailing holiday, it is best to organise shopping and transport to the shipyard before handover. Divide tasks within the crew efficiently: while some shop for supplies, those responsible for the yacht can prepare for the handover. Refrigerated items should only be stored once access to the yacht is permitted.
Arriving at the charter pontoon
Please report to the pontoon office and wait until your yacht is cleared for handover. The team needs time for cleaning, checks, and final preparations. Distances between the shipyard grounds, pontoon, and parking area are short. A detailed site plan of the shipyard can be found in the BaseInfo.
Preparing the yacht and cruising area
Check the inventory and the key onboard systems, and record any existing issues during handover. If you cannot locate them yourself, have the team show you where to find the safety equipment, shore power connection, water supply, and onboard documentation. Before departure, please confirm who to contact in case of technical questions and the agreed return time.
The Bodden waters require particular care when setting out from Barth. Familiarise yourself as early as possible with your yacht’s draft and the nautical charts.
Refuelling before return
There is a marine fuel station near the pontoon within the shipyard area. Please clarify access, opening hours, and your yacht’s return requirements in advance. On your way back, allow sufficient time for the fairway, refuelling, and mooring.
Cruising routes from Barth
A cruise from Barth begins on the Barther Bodden. This gives you time to become familiar with both yacht and crew, but it also calls for precise navigation: the Bodden waters are shallow, and the navigable areas depend on the yacht’s draft. Plan your route using up to date nautical charts and official notices. Weather conditions and water levels may further affect which routes are usable.
Through the Bodden waters towards Barhöft
One initial route option leads through the Bodden waters and the Grabow towards Barhöft. This course is ideal if you prefer to remain in more sheltered waters at first and divide the passage towards the Baltic Sea into manageable stages. Check the fairways and possible berthing options before departure. “Sheltered” refers only to the location in comparison with the open sea and does not automatically mean easy conditions in every wind direction.
Hiddensee and the coast of Rügen
From Barth, Hiddensee and the harbours along the coast of Rügen can be included in a longer cruise. These islands offer a variety of rewarding stages, but the choice depends on access, draft, and weather. A circuit around Rügen requires far more planning than a short leg within the Bodden. Decide early how much time must be reserved for the return to Barth.
Stralsund as a destination within the cruising area
Stralsund can also form part of a route through the Bodden and around Rügen. For this to work, the chosen fairways, any bridge passages, and the crew’s schedule must all align. Check current passage information before making it a fixed day’s destination. It is always wise to include an alternative harbour in case of delays.
Bornholm or the Polish coast if time allows
For experienced crews and longer charter periods, more ambitious offshore passages to Bornholm or the Polish Baltic coast may also be considered. These destinations require open sea crossings, sufficient time in reserve, and a sound plan for changing conditions. Only decide whether such a destination suits your cruise after reviewing the specific yacht, the latest weather forecast, and the full outward and return passage.
For every route, please rely on current nautical charts, official navigational notices, and the marine weather forecast. Suggested itineraries are intended as inspiration and do not constitute binding routes or guaranteed passage times.
Barth ashore
The charter base is located within the shipyard area near the town centre. If you have time before handover or after returning the yacht, it is well worth planning a stroll through Barth. The town is also the right place for provisioning.
From the harbour, the town can easily be explored on foot. It is best to allow proper time for this, rather than trying to fit a visit ashore into the short window between arrival and yacht handover.
Equipment and documentation
Please check the equipment included with your booked yacht and pack bedding and personal items in line with your booking details. If children are joining the crew, suitable life jackets should be arranged well in advance. Our equipment for Baltic Sea yachts guide is helpful for a general packing check. The specific features of your yacht can be found in her individual details.
For your document check, distress flares and signalling equipment may also be relevant. On the page Pyrotechnic certificate and distress signalling equipment, we explain the required documentation and the procedure involved. Please clarify any open questions before travelling to Barth, so that you can use your handover time fully for the yacht itself.
