Getting Here
Our charter base is located at Marina Frapa in Rogoznica. The marina is a large complex. As our yachts at Pier 7 are not situated directly by the marina entrance, it is useful to know the arrival process before you travel.
Arriving by Air via Split
For a yacht charter from Rogoznica, Split Airport is the most relevant destination airport. Marina Frapa is around 30 km from the airport. For charter guests, we can arrange a direct airport transfer from Split Airport to our base in Rogoznica.
After arrival, you will first make your way to the marina entrance or office area. From there, the crew does not need to carry luggage along the longer route to the charter pier. Our team will transport crew and luggage by golf buggy or shuttle to the pier or directly to the yacht. Particularly in high temperatures, with larger crews and heavier bags, this makes arrival considerably easier.
Arriving by Car
Rogoznica is also very convenient for guests travelling in their own vehicle. Paid guarded or monitored parking is available within the grounds of Marina Frapa. Motorhomes can also be parked by prior arrangement with the marina reception.
The internal shuttle service within the marina is equally practical for guests arriving by car. After unloading in the entrance or office area, we will take care of transporting crew and luggage to Pier 7 or directly to the yacht. This means suitcases, bags and provisions do not need to be carried across the entire marina.
Provisioning and Yacht Handover
Shopping and Facilities at the Marina
There is no need to leave Marina Frapa for your first essentials. Directly within the marina grounds you will find a supermarket, restaurants, bars and a pool bar, cafés, cashpoints and financial services, sanitary facilities, and several smaller shops. The supermarket is a practical option for stocking up for your cruise. Additional or larger shopping facilities can be found in the town of Rogoznica.
If you arrive well before your yacht handover, this time can therefore be used productively for shopping. Crew and luggage can first arrive at the office area. You can then spend the remaining time in the marina until the yacht is ready for release.
Why the Yacht Cannot Be Handed Over Immediately
After the previous charter crew returns, each yacht is thoroughly prepared for the next guests. Depending on the yacht, this includes cleaning, technical checks and any necessary work carried out by our base team. The yacht is only handed over once this preparation has been completed and it has been cleared for the new charter.
The regular guaranteed handover time is 4 pm. If a yacht is fully prepared earlier, handover may also take place sooner. However, we cannot guarantee an earlier check in. What matters most is that cleaning and technical preparation between two charters are completed in full.
Making Good Use of the Time Before Handover
Arriving early in Rogoznica does not mean you need to spend the time waiting on the pier. You can do your shopping, enjoy something to eat or drink in one of the marina’s restaurants or cafés, or simply familiarise yourself with the layout of the grounds. The marina pool and the nearby pebble beach are also inviting options. The beach is less than 200 metres from the charter pier, making it easily accessible without any additional travel.
Return and Refuelling
Please allow sufficient time for your return to Rogoznica. Before the yacht is finally handed back, refuelling is still required. The fuel station is located in the harbour area near the end of the port and can be visited before berthing at the charter base.
Allow Extra Time for the Final Nautical Miles
Do not head into Rogoznica Bay only shortly before your scheduled return time. Your passage plan should include a sensible time buffer for the final nautical miles, approaching the fuel station, possible waiting time while refuelling, and the manoeuvre back to the marina afterwards. This helps avoid unnecessary time pressure at the end of your charter.
Relaxation and Surroundings
In addition to the yacht charter itself, Marina Frapa offers several ways to make good use of an early arrival day or extra time after your return. The beach, pool, dining options and Rogoznica itself are all located directly at or close to the base.
Pebble Beach Right by the Charter Base
A pebble beach for marina guests is located less than 200 metres from the charter pier. After a longer journey by car or plane, this allows you to reach the water straight away within the marina area, without having to travel on to another location or beach. Before yacht handover, the beach also offers a pleasant place for a short break and a refreshing swim in the sea.
Pool and Leisure Facilities at Marina Frapa
Alongside its berths, Marina Frapa offers a variety of leisure facilities. These include a pool, fitness options, a boules court, restaurants, bars and a pool bar, as well as a nightclub. This gives crews who arrive early or wish to spend more time in Rogoznica after their cruise several attractive options directly within the marina grounds.
Explore Rogoznica Before or After Your Cruise
The town of Rogoznica is also well worth visiting for a first or final evening ashore. This Dalmatian coastal town has a historic centre, inviting restaurants and a relaxed waterfront atmosphere. From the marina, a visit can easily be combined with your time before departure or after your return.
Between Split, Šibenik and the Islands
Rogoznica lies on the Central Dalmatian coast between Split and Šibenik. For itinerary planning, this location opens up several different directions. To the north lie destinations such as Primošten, Šibenik, the Krka National Park area and the Kornati Islands. To the south, possible routes lead to Trogir, Split and onwards into the islands off Split and Central Dalmatia.
This means that when sailing from Rogoznica, you do not need to commit from the outset to just one cruising direction. The length of your charter, your preferred daily passages and the actual weather conditions can determine whether your focus lies further north, further south or on a combination of both.
Sheltered Location in Soline Bay
Marina Frapa is situated in the sheltered Soline Bay. This protected geographical setting makes arrival, departure and return more comfortable, although it does not replace an up to date weather assessment for your onward cruise planning.
The cruising area is suitable for short passages with family or holiday crews as well as considerably longer routes. Those who prefer a more relaxed style of sailing will find attractive destinations within manageable distances. More ambitious crews can use Rogoznica as the starting point for much larger circuits through the Croatian islands.
Cruising Routes from Rogoznica
Sailing from Rogoznica can be shaped in many different ways. Its location between Šibenik and Split allows for routes both north and south. For a yacht charter in Croatia, this is especially convenient because planning can be tailored to the charter duration, the crew and the desired number of nautical miles. Our suggested itineraries range from around 90 nautical miles in one week to approximately 325 nautical miles over two weeks.
One Relaxed Week: Short Passages and Destinations in Both Directions
For a one week family or leisurely route, one itinerary of around 90 nautical miles shows how short daily passages, a planned harbour day and destinations both north and south of Rogoznica can be combined. A route like this leaves more time for going ashore, swimming and taking things at an easy pace. Depending on wind and conditions, it can also be sailed in reverse. This keeps the exact order of each leg flexible.
Two Weeks: More Cruising Ground Without Long Daily Passages
With two weeks of charter time, the possibilities expand considerably. The relaxed two week suggestion covers around 175 nautical miles and continues to focus on manageable passages, anchorages and longer stays. This allows more destinations to be combined without turning every day into a long day under sail. To the north, options include Primošten, Šibenik, and the areas around Krka and the Kornati Islands. To the south lie Trogir, Split and the islands of Central Dalmatia.
One Sportier Week: Around 200 Nautical Miles off Split
Those who would like to maximise their time under sail within one week can choose a different emphasis. The sportier one week itinerary covers around 200 nautical miles and leads through the islands off Split. On this type of sailing holiday in Croatia, longer legs make up a much greater part of the day. Harbours, island destinations and towns remain part of the route, but the available week is used far more intensively for sailing.
Two Sporty Weeks: A Larger Circuit Through the Croatian Islands
For two more ambitious weeks, the suggested itinerary covers around 325 nautical miles. Within this time frame, greater distances through the Croatian islands can be combined with historic old towns, harbours and anchorages. The additional time creates more scope to plan a wider circuit while still allowing certain destinations to be explored more thoroughly.
Adapt the Route to Weather and Wind
Current conditions remain decisive for the final route. In the Adriatic, the Maestral and Bora winds both play an important role. For that reason, a planned sequence of stages should never be treated as fixed. Rogoznica’s position, with cruising options in both directions, gives crews valuable alternatives whenever conditions make an adjustment advisable.
